What our values mean to us, and for you:

FIRST CLASS:

• Standard of instrument tuition.
The standard of our tutors is high…both in their individual performance ability on their chosen instrument(s) and their associated teaching ability.
Most of our tutors hold degrees in music- (teaching and/or performance) and/or are professional session musicians.

• Moral standard
Our tutors all have a great outlook on life - and solid personal value system. They need to, in order to get - and keep their job!
At FMF we know the important role model that tutors and teachers often are for our kids- and we do not take this lightly…trust and integrity amongst other things, are extremely important.

• Positive environment
We believe not only in ensuring your children are safe, but that they will be in an environment of encouragement and affirmation-where they will flourish….
We believe in you, we support you, we encourage you… is the message we want your kids to gain and believe from us!

• Communication
A GREAT rapport with kids is essential. We believe that this also needs to be first class. How many times have we heard about the angry old music teacher who…ultimately turned the child off music…
None of that here…

• Resource material
We will either find the best resources ‘out there in the market place’ or write it ourselves (!) in order to release and equip musically, in the best manner possible.

MUSIC EDUCATION EXCELLENCE

At Funkey Music Factory we adhere to a Holistic approach in teaching- not concentrating solely on the performance aspect, like so many other private teaching studios.

There is training and development in the components of creativity/ music composition for older students, aural, music literacy, music knowledge, history, and the understanding and practice of musical concepts. Everything is inter-related, and builds on previous learning experiences…a most effective teaching technique.

Each lesson is varied, interesting, and often most importantly to the participant, fun!

FUN & FRIENDLY

The main teaching format at the Factory is within the Peer learning environment- where kids learn, play and grow together.

Students are encouraged and motivated from staff, as well as each other. They will work together in pairs, in small groups, and lead toward ensemble performances with similar and varied instruments - thus expanding relationships as well as musical development along the way.

Students will also join with others from a variety of schools/uni’s etc. developing friendships beyond their current community. Bonus!

AFFORDABLE

As stated in the advantages of Funkey Music Factory, we believe in value for money.

We do not agree with the over inflation of service or resources prices, and will therefore endeavour to keep costs down where we can.
